About Me

Being an elementary school teacher is one of the most rewarding and challenging endeavors I have taken on in my life. I have been teaching for 7 years and have loved (almost) every minute of it! As with most careers, I have found teaching to be a lot of fun but also a little bit of a competition. I mean, come on... who doesn't want to be the best at what they do everyday?


After studying Elementary Education and then teaching 4th grade for 6 years I realized there was more for me to do. I went back to school and got my masters in educational leadership. If I was to obtain a position as an administrator I could help many more students then I do in just one classroom. 


I then spoke with my principal and made a big change in my career. To get more experience in the education system I changed grade levels. Since I was an intermediate teacher for so long we decided I would benefit from teaching in a primary grade. I taught second grade this past year and it was wonderful. To continue my experience with changing grade levels I decided to make another change. For the school year 2010 - 2011 I will be teaching third grade. Looping is the biggest change! I will be able to take my students with me. I expect it to be rewarding but also challenging. Ya know how we all have a bag of tricks we use each year...well, I have to get a new bag. These kids already know my tricks.


I can't wait to have this experience! I'll let you all know how this go throughout this coming year.
